Ok... After a few comments ingame now i was wondering what you all thought of this axe for hunters.
IMHO this axe is imba for hunters. it has all the stats on i would want and max dps has it up there as the second best 2 handed weapon for hunters. With Journey's End being n1.
ive talked with a hunter friend who also thinks this item is desinged for hunters with the haste and crit it has, it's all good.
I dont need hit as i'm capped and haste only comes in if im mm or sv and i can easily compensate for lack of haste with IAotH, so i prefer to keep the axe on. I do have Black Ice in the bank incase i get an item that drops me below the hit cap line so i can swap it in untill i can even out hit again and i can re-equip the axe.
I've been flamed in game from a DK (who i put on ignore) and over wow forums from ppl who have looked at my armoury page, but im confused this is THE best axe for hunters so why are these ppl saying that it's not.
I would like to know your opinions on the axe and if you dont think its a hunter weapon please say why you think that.
i just want to know why there is such contention about this axe.

I've been flamed for having the axe as well. And this was well before the change to the feral staffs, which made Journeys End the top weapon. Before that this axe was the ultimate weapon for hunters of whatever spec.
ReplyDeleteI just say "Have fun in your own World of Warcraft!" to these people as it seems impossible to argue with these warriors or in your case death knights.
One guildie has it after all the melee has had them, I'd really pass for warriors, palas and DKs since it's their best in slot main source of damage weapoon (as they should pass on Envoy for us).
ReplyDeleteI'm stuck with my precious Black Ice (BI + Grim toll = ~150 hit alone :D).
Horses for courses I guess. This axe is certainly suited to a hunter, however rolling on it ahead of a melee class would depend on the needs of your guild raiding team. The best DPS increase over black ice I can get from the hunter spreadsheet is 11 (after regemming, hit food etc). MaxDPS suggests that a DK would get approx 50 DPS from an upgrade, so I wont roll until our teams DKs are all kitted out.
ReplyDeleteBut you have an axe already - dont worry about jealous fools - it is definitely the best Hunter 2H apart from journey's end - wave it defiantly at the half wits, and enjoy your WOWing.

Well... There is a simple rule: Hunters have priority over warriors on bows, xbows, guns and also warriors and other melee classes have priority on melee weps... But, this is not just a question of who will benefit more, or who has better gear and etc. This is more with ppls jealousy and hunger for gear... Even ppl who doesnt need the gear u've got, will complain on that, if it is imba. They will also have something "smart" to say about your rolling.

It is one of the best weps for hunters BUT it is THE BEST wep for f.ex. warriors. It should be warr > hunter but its really good for us to
